  • To recognize the neurological difficulties in the brain via posture & movement

  • To evaluate neural maturity and clinical connectivity

  • The role of Body Schema and how to develop & grade it

  • Experience creating neural connections to and thru the: brain stem, cerebellum & basal ganglia

  • To set up home programs and caregiver activities

  • To know where to begin and why

  • The neurological role of triggering a reflex before Rx

  • To understand how reflexes, intention and movement are access points for neuroplasticity

Primitive Reflex Essentials - Conception to Crawling I Flexion and Extension - Day 2

What you learn: 9 hours includes manuals; prerequisites are clinical neuroplasticity for babies (CNB)/intro to RMT or foundations for clinical neuroplasticity (FCN)

  • The surface anatomy points you need to be able to identify dysfunction
    • Practical application on self/partner/ baby doll
    • What normal tone looks like – how it shows up in the position of the bones
  • How to establish 3 initial midlines and why this is important
    • Understand and know the patterns
    • Bring in & use – Hands Pulling Reflex / Initial Grasp Reflex
    • Use 2 other new methods
    • Tie this in to Sutherland’s Fulcrum, the Anterior / Posterior postural lines
    • Tie in to head control
    • See a live demo of what this looks like
  • Establishing head control – practical methods
    • Understanding the Tonic Labyrinthine Reflex on the belly and the back
  • How to bring in Landau
    • Why this is developmentally important
    • Practice 4 ways to bring this in
    • Live demo

Primitive Reflex Essentials - Conception to Crawling II Releasing Tendon Guard - Day 3

What you learn: 9 hours includes manuals; prerequisites are PRE (C-C) I

  •  Recognize the Tendon Guard defensive response
  • Use knowledge of surface anatomy to identify the pattern
  • Recognize the role of auditory processing in “hyper alert”
  • Explore the iLs cushion to calm baby’s hyper alert state
  • Perform a 5 min muscle memory trauma release
  • 2+ effective ways to calm the physiological stress response

Primitive Reflex Essentials - Conception to Crawling III Rotating for Latching and Mobility - Day 4

What you learn: prerequisites are PRE (C-C) II

  • Review midline and the importance of a rotational axis
  • Use knowledge of surface anatomy to identify the reflex patterns for spinal rotation and how they function to position for feeding and mobility. Learn each pattern as it should be in normal development. Understand the stimulus and tonal response.
    • Rooting
    • Spinal Galant
    • ATNR
    • Babinski
  • Identify the normal reflex patterns for latching and how the reflexes for flexion, extension and head control provide stability for these to function and develop.
    • Grasp
    • Suck
    • Dive
    • Swallow
    • Breathe
  • See them in action with live a demo
