This comparative essay explores the common ground upon which each of these three approaches to healing has built their respective foundations. It also points out the differences in form, of which there are many. The case of “Lois” is woven into the essay serving as an example of how each approach is grounded in an individual’s healing process.
Life is generated. The evidence is everywhere around us. You and I exist. We “start” as microscopic cells that court, merge, divide and divide and divide, eventually forming field upon field of cells that become tissues, organs and an entire organism. But what comes before? What force really generates this process and continues to mediate it? This paper explores this underlying force at play.

Physics can explain and represent the human experience of healing with its language of symbols and concepts and by its principles. We are energy in action at both the fundamental, microscopic level and at the grossest, most macroscopic level. Physics ought to be one language to describe the phenomena of illness and health. This paper explores the interface between modern physics and the healing process in counterpoint to the biochemical and mechanical theories of disease and cure.
The average person utilizes alternative and complementary therapies not because doctors are non-compassionate, uneducated or poorly trained in their discipline but because western medicine fails to meet his or her need for a holistic perspective of health. Western medicine forgets that mind and body are one, reducing healing to the mechanical or chemical treatment of the body. This paper explores the integrated nature of the mindbody and how it heals best when approached from this perspective.
