Join Dr. Hazelbaker for this live one-day presentation/discussion on all things "tied." Dr. Hazelbaker will present two presentations followed by discussion of participant concerns/questions related to the subject matter. Participants will have a chance to share, ask questions, discuss specific cases, vent, and propose solutions and strategies for addressing today's claims about what is being called "Tethered Oral Tissues."
This day-long offering puts you and your concerns regarding these issues in the spotlight! Dr. Hazelbaker starts the day asking YOU about your burning questions and concerns regarding “Tethered Oral Tissues.” A discussion of those questions and concerns will fill the first 90 minutes Every participant is welcome to chime in!
We’ll take a bio break then reconvene for a presentation: “The Evidence Regarding “Posterior Tie,” “Lip Tie,” “Buccal Tie” and Surgical Aftercare Practices.”
We’ll then take a 1 hour break for lunch. You are welcome to stay online while you eat for informal sharing.
After lunch, we’ll examine the challenges clinicians face as a result of the burgeoning “Tethered Oral Tissues” Industry, including:
What research should we use to inform our clinical practice?
How do we deal with practitioners who are not using the evidence to inform their clinical practice?
How do we combat the disinformation machine on social media?
How do we deal with the hostility from practitioner to practitioner when there are major disagreements about management relative to “Tethered Oral Tissues?”
How do we handle surgical aftercare?
What role does bodywork play relative to “Tethered Oral Tissues?”
And more, depending on the interests of the group and the time constraints. Every participant is welcome to chime in!
After another bio break, the final presentation given by Dr. Hazelbaker will address “What’s New in the Tongue-tie Science?: Interesting and Surprising New Findings.”

Dr. Hazelbaker has been a therapist for 40 years. She specializes in cross-disciplinary treatment and to that end has taken training in several modalities to best assist her clients. She is a certified Craniosacral Therapist, a Lymph Drainage Therapy practitioner, a Tummy Time™ Trainer, a Rhythmic Movement practitioner and an International Board Certified Lactation Consultant. She runs a private practice in Columbus, Ohio.
Her original research on tongue-tie, done in 1993, has changed clinical practice both in the USA and abroad. She authored the Assessment Tool for Lingual Frenulum Function (ATLFF) during her Master’s Degree program. The ATLFF remains the only research-based tongue-tie screening process in infants under 6 months.
